In the modern-day world of lots of promises and empty returns we should be very careful. I have always tried to recollect what my granddad taught me. Simply recounted, “boy you have got to try things to understand if they are good or not, because a man explains it is doesn't mean nothing”. With many of granddads sage words, I filed them in my head not yet understanding their true price! As we age these filed wise words somehow pop up and the full value is realized.
So with that being said, I needed to assure you of my conviction of trying things out before putting my opinion about it. Change is hard and revolutionizing the way we do things is tougher still. I have been around motorcycles a good majority of my life and even own a pretty custom 07 ‘ Nite Train HD. This year we went to Sturgis from Spokane, Wa. Which is about a thousand miles each way. The group consisted mainly of my bro, best friend, girls and myself on three bikes.
Frankly the longest ride I have undertaken with a group or on my own. Like most motorbike riders we were excited to get down to Sturgis as quickly as possible without killing ourselves. We had cut the ride into a 2 day ride which is about five hundred miles a day. Every day at the end of the ride, I kept hearing louder than normal noise from my bike as well as my best buddies. Simply put, I assumed something was seriously wrong with both bikes.
Upon arrival in Sturgis and after setting up camp the 3 of us naturally discussed the ride and our concerns. It was at this time my bro decided to enlighten us about the employment of Amsoil motorbike oil and the advantages. My “older” bro has been riding for twenty-five years and knows how to tear a bike down and rebuild it even better, so naturally his views on bikes count to me. It was that night my number one friend and myself made a decision to give Amsoil motorcycle products a try. The next morning we headed into Sturgis were in the Rally you will find everything for your bicycle.
Found an Amsoil trailer and figured out the service package we wanted and had the bikes converted if you will. My bike received a full service and my best friends a transmission oil change. The words of my Grandpa struck me like a brick on this day! Once the service was finished on our bikes the tech simply announced “go put 50 miles on your bikes and see if you happen to notice a difference”. Only fifty miles are you fooling me, remember it was just the night before we suspected that there was something seriously wrong with our bikes from all of the noise out of the lower ends. The tech went thru our bikes and announced mechanically talking our bikes were fine, our oils & lubricants were the difficulty.
So you know I've always run what the construction commends (HD). We went on a pleasant short 50 mile run and the explanation was there. My number one pal simply couldn't believe that the 5 speed transmission that sounded so bad the day before was as quite as the day he purchased it. As for me, the 6 speed transmission I've had identical results.
The trip home though put all disbelief’s to rest. On arriving back home my best friends bike sounded great and my bike which had the full service stunned even me. My results were 3 to 5 mpg better on fuel mileage, around 35 degrees cooler and as we pulled into city the engine and transmission were purring better then I've ever experienced. I now know this, Amsoil motorbike products are what I use and will continue to use for all my bikes.
